Event Details
Ahoy Argonauts! Join the Hellenic Museum this school holidays as we explore tales of tailoring in ancient Greece.
Have you ever wondered why so many ancient statues are naked? How was an old shirt so deadly that it managed to kill the mighty Hercules? Did the ancient Greeks have pockets in their robes — and if not, where did they keep their loose change!? You'll learn the answers to all of these questions and more as we explore objects in the Hellenic Museum's collections.
Then, it's time to make your very own ancient cloak, hat and staff! Once we've made our clothes and assumed our ancient identities, we'll then run a series of physical challenges based on our new roles. Will you hang on by your threads?
Recommended for curious minds aged 6–13. Tickets include all materials, and Museum general entry after the workshop.
