DONATE AN OBJECT

Safeguard treasures of the past, for the future

The Hellenic Museum features a diverse range of exhibitions which showcase the rich and varied history, art and culture of Hellenism. A key component of delivering these exhibitions and programs is the collections the Museum receives as loans or donations.

We greatly appreciate the many offers we receive from generous individuals looking to donate items to our collection. Unfortunately, due to limited collection space and curatorial capacity, space for new items is highly limited. All new acquisitions are considered through a rigorous process to ensure they are a suitable fit with our existing collections, education and public programming, and the Hellenic Museum's overall vision.

Important information

Please note, the Hellenic Museum does not accept invitations to purchase objects. We also kindly request that you do not send any objects or other physical materials to the Hellenic Museum without prior agreement.

To submit an object donation proposal:

  1. Read the Hellenic Museum exhibitions policy information

  2. Read the information below for additional guidance on the submission process

  3. Complete the Object Donation Proposal Form

Notice of decision

The Hellenic Museum receives a high volume of object donation proposals, which must be individually assessed by the Curatorial Department. This process may take a number of weeks to complete. All proposals will receive an acknowledgement within three (3) business days, confirming the submission has been received and advising when a decision can be expected.
